""Follow Me", says the Lamb

""Follow Me", says the Lamb. Notice that the Savior didn't say: "Follow the pastor" Jesus didn't say: "Come unto the church, all ye who are heavy-laden & the church will give you rest". The Good Shepherd didn't say: "Look unto the conference speaker & live". The Redeemer didn't say: "Your ministry is the way, the truth & the life." Christ is our life. Not the church. Not your pastor. Not the conference speakers. Not your 'ministry'. Jesus. Only Jesus is your LIFE. He is the One who was before all things & through Him all things are created. Don't look to men with feet of clay. Look to Christ. He is the same yesterday, today & forever." ~ Abolitionist  Patte Smith

via Monergism Books- Unless, by the grace of God, you are willing to give up all hope in yourself, all trust in your own morality, all pride in your own goodness, all trust in your good works, your praying, church attending and bible reading then you do not yet know Christ, nor have you experienced forgiveness from God. It is only when the Spirit grants a sinner such a sight of the holiness, beauty and majesty of God that he immediately despairs of all hope in himself ... such that he flees out of himself and he trusts, rather, in Christ alone ... he is the one who experiences the pardon of God. For Christ alone is worthy, righteous, and died in the place of all sinners who trust in Him.   :) Comments   via Monergism books- This is not to say we should stop being moral, or stop doing good, or stop praying etc... Lord forbid ... no it means that we should never, ever trust in them. We do not do good works unto salvation but ...

In Christ alone

Mckinley Caughman Our salvation is discovered in Christ alone, not in ourselves. It is through Christ alone that we are saved. Jesus is the Saviour. He is God incarnate. It is, t herefore, of no surprise that He effectively carries out His work of salvation. In Christ, we have redemption through His blood (Ephesians 1:7). It is by grace alone that the people of God become accepted in the Beloved (Ephesians 1:6). It is Jesus alone who is the Saviour of men, and, no matter how religious we become, we are not, and cannot be, our own saviours. And that’s the Gospel Truth! Miles Mckee

This is a post written by my friend Marissa on facebook

Marissa N Mark 8 hrs  ·  Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.  And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. The summary of the whole law of God: Love God and love your neighbor. For those outside of Christ, the commands condemn. If you violate one point you are guilty of all (James 2:10; Romans 3:23). For those in Christ, the obligation was met by His perfect obedience in our place (Romans 5) . Never has so much love been poured out to a people than is seen in the God of Heaven, coming down, to take the form of a servant, endure every temptation known to man, perfectly submitting to the will of the Father, to rescue and redeem us to God. What wondrous love, O my soul! Doesn't this love motivate you to obedience? Jesus said, If you love me, keep m...

Galatians 2:20 NASB

I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the  life  which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.

1 John 3:16 NASB

We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

Romans 9

Romans 9  (NASB) 9  I am telling the truth in Christ, I am not lying, my conscience testifies with me in the Holy Spirit,   2  that I have great sorrow and unceasing grief in my heart.   3  For  I could  wish that I myself were  accursed,  separated  from Christ for the sake of my brethren, my kinsmen  according to the flesh,   4  who are  Israelites, to whom belongs  the adoption as sons, and  the glory and  the covenants and  the giving of the Law and  the  temple  service and  the promises,   5  whose are  the fathers, and  from whom is  the Christ according to the flesh,  who is over all,  God  blessed  forever. Amen. 6  But  it is  not as though  the word of God has failed.  For they are not all Israel who are  descended  from Israel;   7  nor are they all children  b...
